I was 16 and in and out of hospitals fighting leukemia. During this three-and-a-half year journey, I was fascinated by the power of medications to support healing and improve lives. This led me to pursue a career in pharmacy, where I knew I could play a vital role in improving patient well-being.
Unfortunately, that’s not what happened–at first.
I noticed a recurring theme among my patients that you may have seen, too: Month after month, their conditions seemed to stagnate or worsen, with their medication lists growing longer. It was disheartening to watch the lack of progress despite my best efforts to help them.
I realized I needed to shift my approach. And guess what? I found what works (and what doesn’t). But there was something I had to do first, and that was create a vision. I knew I couldn't go anywhere unless I knew where I was going! So I created a clear vision for my future.
